ChromeCloak is a screen-capture-invisible overlay that lets you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and more — without Chrome ever detecting you left.
ChromeCloak uses a multi-layered approach to make Chrome completely unaware you've switched away.
Hooks Cocoa-level focus APIs — isActive, resignKey, occlusionState, and more. Chrome's own process thinks it's always focused.
Overrides document.hasFocus(), visibilityState, blur/focus events, requestAnimationFrame timing, AudioContext, and more at the page level.
OS-level keystroke capture intercepts keystrokes before they reach Chrome, routing them to the overlay instead.
AccessibilityLaunch any of these directly inside the invisible overlay panel.
Drag ChromeCloak.app to Applications. Grant Accessibility permission when prompted.
Click the Arm button. ChromeCloak launches Chrome with injection hooks and the stealth extension loaded.
Press Option+Space or rapid-click to show/hide the overlay. Pick an AI app and start chatting — Chrome won't notice a thing.
